It’s time to embark on an experience that is as challenging as it is educational and liberating. At Kokoda Trekking, we’ve escorted thousands of trekkers through one of the most beautiful and difficult landscapes in the world. We are an Australian owned and operated family business with decades of history in Papua New Guinea. We enjoy long-standing relationships with local and indigenous PNG people who appreciate the respect and empathy we bring to our trekking adventures through their land.
For more than ten years, we have operated the safest Kokoda Trail experience possible. Our local knowledge and relationships combine with our use of latest technology to make Kokoda Trekking the company of choice for new and seasoned trekkers who come from all around the world to travel with us. We even make it possible for our trekkers’ families and friends to follow their progress in real time via social media and our smart TrekTraka system.
The Kokoda Trail is one of the world’s great treks, taking enthusiastic, fit bushwalkers on a journey that will challenge and inspire. Follow the path upon which Australian and Japanese armies engaged in bitter warfare during the early days of World War II. Papua New Guinea’s unforgiving, rugged wilderness provides an unforgettable backdrop for a life-changing experience.
Ninety-six kilometres long, the Kokoda Trail takes trekkers through mountainous country that boasts incredible rainforest and jungles that are home to rare species of ferns, orchids and birds. Sparkling mountain streams and steep valley climbs provide breathtaking contrasts throughout the trek.
The Kokoda Trail’s unspoilt villages will welcome you and the kind, generous people of the Koiari and Orokaiva tribes will smilingly present you with gifts of exquisite seasonal fruits and vegetables.
We invite you to journey across our website and picture yourself accomplishing a personal achievement along the world famous Kokoda Trail.
