Where would you suggest we stay?
Solution
It is recommended on arrival that you book somewhere close to the airport as the flight on average leaves very early in the morning.

Airlines of Papua New Guinea usually prefer we have our trekkers at the airport by 5am

Accommodation in this vicinity is made up as follows:

1. Airways Hotel - email: airways@datec.com.pg or if you do not have any reply from that address, please email: ppandey@airways.com.pg

Ask for the 'old wing' as it should be cheaper than the 'new wing' unless you want the best of quality. These rooms are quite large and usually have a double bed and one single bed. They also have an another outer family area with lounge chairs. If you are really trying to save money, some of you could possibly sleep on the floor in this area as well.

2. The Gateway Hotel - email: gateway@coralseahotels.com.pg
If you want to save money, ask for share basis and sleep two to a room. Contact us for a special deal with Gateway Hotel!

3. Hideaway Hotel - 6 Mile - This hotel is quite nice but is not in the best of locations so please be careful if you stay there and want to walk around outside your residence. Suggest that you organise transport through the hotel or contact Corporate Transport to arrange for a pickup and dropoff.
I do not have their contact email address but will try and obtain it. Transport email address will be listed separately at the bottom of this sheet.

4. Holiday Inn - Waigani. Quite a nice hotel in the heart of Waigani and situated approximately 15 minutes from the airport.

5. Comfort Inn - A cheaper alternative to the hotels mentioned and in the heart of Boroko - approximately 15 minutes drive from the airport.

Transport:

Transport is provided as a free service by all hotels both for pickup and dropoff. All you have to do is to let them know your date and time of arrival and you will be met by a representative of their hotel.
